At ShadowToGold, we believe that true growth and empowerment stem from embracing the entirety of the self, including its shadowy depths. Founded on the principles of inner exploration and self-discovery, we specialise in guiding individuals through the transformative journey of shadow work.

Our mission is to facilitate profound experiences that catalyze personal growth and evolution. We recognize that the path to self-awareness is not always easy, but it is essential for unlocking one’s true potential. Through our unique blend of psychodrama, mentoring, and archetype exploration, we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to confront their shadows, integrate their experiences, and emerge stronger and more empowered than ever before.

About our Founder – Stefan Hermann

Stefan Hermann began his career as a world-class professional tennis player, ranked among the top 100 globally and holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest rally in tennis history.

Since then, his life has unfolded through many expressions — social entrepreneur, futurist, mentor, facilitator, yoga teacher, published author, consultant to Fortune 500 companies, and guest professor at the University of Social Pedagogy in Lausanne. Rather than identifying with titles, Stefan has continuously reinvented himself, exploring what it means to live a meaningful, fully expressed life and realize one’s highest potential.

Guided by an inner calling, Stefan travelled widely, immersing himself in diverse cultures and contexts. From tents to atriums, shamans to CEOs, gurus to gang leaders, prisoners to policemen — he discovered a common golden thread that connects us all.

ShadowToGold is the culmination of these experiences, insights, and real-world applications.

Stefan has worked extensively across South Africa, the UK, the USA, and Europe, mentoring young adults into healthy adulthood and supporting communities in empowering their youth. He appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s Lifeclass and received the Ron Hering Award for Exceptional Leadership in 2004.

He founded the more-than-for-profit organization GenDerations Mentoring in Switzerland and expanded it to India in 2017. Stefan has delivered two TEDx Talks, including The Nature of Shadow (Mexico City, 2019), where his work has been widely admired. In 2017, he also served as the first Executive Director of the San Francisco Bay Area Boys-To-Men Center.

Today, Stefan’s work is primarily focused in India and Mexico. Through ShadowToGold, he offers workshops, at-large trainings, facilitator trainings, and Weekend Intensives — all rooted in deep inner work and community building. As participants transform their relationship with themselves, the ShadowToGold community continues to grow, carrying this work forward into the world.
